Deputy President H.E Rigathi Gachagua has emphasised the Government’s dedication in supporting independent commissions in the execution of their constitutional mandates. The deputy president said this on Sunday 28th April 2024 while opening the consultation forum between the Executive and the Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices (CCIOs) at Lake Naivasha Resort, Nakuru County.
“ Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices are key structures of safeguarding our National values and Principles of governance as enshrined in the Constitution, “ said H.E Rigathi.
The deputy president also called upon the CCIO’s to work collaboratively as per law to ensure quality service delivery to the citizens.
“ For smooth service delivery to the people, the Kenya Kwanza Administration is guided by the Principle of collaboration and cooperation between the Arms of Government for a better Kenya,” said , Mr. Gachagua.
The 3-day forum brings together all Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices established under chapter 15 of the constitution. At the end the forum will document deliberations that will be shared with the executive for implementation.
Also in attendance were, Public Service Commission Vice Chairperson Ms. Charity Kisotu, Commissioners; Dr. Mary Mwiandi, Amb. Patrick Wamoto, Amb. Salma Ahmed, Andrew Muriuki and Ag. Commission Secretary Mr. Remmy Mulati.
Others were, Chief Justice Martha Koome and heads of all Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices.
