Public Service Commission Chairperson Amb. Anthony Muchiri has called for skill-driven training for public servants. Amb. Muchiri said this during a meeting with the  Kenya School of Government (KSG) council led by Chairperson Justice Charles Nyachae on 29th July 2024 at the Commission house. 

“The deteriorating service delivery in the public institutions can be largely attributed to lack of continuous and proper training of the officers and we have to change this,” said Mr. Muchiri.

The PSC Chairperson also urged the KSG to collaborate with the key stakeholders to enrich the training programmes for the public servants to improve the quality of service delivery. 

Speaking in the same meeting, the KSG council Chairperson Justice Charles Nyachae also acknowledged the need to enrich the training programmes for public servants. 

“There is indeed a disconnect between the services offered in public institutions and the expectations of our citizens,” said Justice Nyachae. 

The KSG and PSC chairpersons also agreed to work together and bring on board other stakeholders to enrich the training programmes for the officers in the service. 

Justice Nyachae had paid a courtesy call to the PSC Chairperson Amb. Muchiri to explore areas of collaboration in enhancing training for public servants.

PSC Commissioner Dr. Mary Mwiandi, Acting Commission Secretary Mr. Remmy Mulati.
